DeCoy
DeCoy
Ok here's a brief history of DeCoy...

Started gaming back in the late 70's. Started with the ubiquitous Binatone "pong". Rapidly progressed to an original Atari console as soon as it was launched (woo-hoo Defender). Then along came the Mattel Intellivision. Atari promptly sold, Intellivsion promptly purchased.

Then in the early 80's things started to happen, with Sinclair and the Beeb bringing out affordable home computers. Bought a BBC model A, one of the first 1000 to be shipped, consequently it had the wrong power supply, and you could quite literally fry eggs on the the PSU. Helped my brother develop a game for the Beeb "Balloons", managed to get someone to buy it and market it on tape. This was one of the earliest games for the Beeb. We got really rich on the back of it (NOT!), I seem to remember my brother getting a cheque for £50.

Around about this time I got seriously involved with the fledging Computing Club and Computing Studies at Secondary School. This rapidly progressed to building ZX81 kits and mounting them in dodgy Aluminium cases. Also started playing with RML 380Z's, Sharp MZ80K's, Vic-20's etc.

By this point I'd become a Snapper, Frak and Chuckie Egg fiend.

Left School, ended up in IT, though not sure how that happened.

Started working for a Uni back in 1989 - been here ever since.

Didn't really bother with PC games much through the late 90's and early 00's, that might be something to do with the 3 sprogglings that came along.

Got into PS1 and then the PS2 (my eldest sons fault - honest).

2 years or so ago, got persuaded to "help out" the faculty that delivers games computing courses. Found HL1 and then HL2. The rest as they say is History. Now break, ermm, maintain 4 HL2DM srcds servers alongside a smattering of HL1DM, Opposing Force, CS:S, DOD:S servers.

Oh and somewhere along the line these crazey DOH guys thought I fit the profile of a classic DOH member (thanks for that Bambi, Kryten et al).

Kill me on a killbox near you

DiscoStoo
DiscoStoo
With the exception of Ianegg, Kryten and Rafer V, DiscoStoo is possibly the youngest member of [DOH] at 28 years young. Although he is unable to mention this fact in game as it upsets Bambi a little

He is childless (well to his knowledge anyway) due to the fact he has devoted his entire life to disco music. Either that or he is a 'jaffa'.

DiscoStoo currently resides almost exactly halfway between Manchester and Liverpool in a small hamlet by a bubbling stream.

When not running his Discothèque (Disco Stu's) he works as an auditor for a large home shopping company.

Amongst many interesting past times DiscoStoo enjoy's being annihilated by the opposition on HL2DM. He also "simply luuuurves" nothing more than going for long walks in the meadows to pick wild flowers.

DiscoStoo adores people with a good sense of humour and therefore is bemused as to how he became invloved with [DOH]

DiscoStoo has many ambitions in life of which one is to own a car that does 0-60mph in less than 5 seconds.

Some of DiscoStoo's famous quotes are:

"DiscoStoo doesn't advertise."
"DiscoStoo wants you to be comfortable while he does his thing."
"DiscoStoo is working pro bono."
"DiscoStoo was talkin' to you"
"I'm gonna be honest, I don't even like disco music. But I have become a one dimensional character. I can't change."

Thank you for your time. Please try to decipher fact from fiction if you can. FYI I am currently registered under theMental Health Act of 1983.

DJS
Born 1971. Spent most of childhood in Europe, tho had few contacts with local people.

A computer enthusiast since 1978: Ohio Scientific, Sinclair ZX80, ZX81, ZX Spectrum, then, later, russian clones with 128K and 640K floppy drive. Used to program in Z80 assembler, been a sort of hacker, made it for living in early 1990s, remaking Spectrum games for arcades. Never did it with PC tho, being merely a gamer.

"Before the first computer", i had a so-called TV-game, a noname HK console with a dosen of cartridges, most playable being that shooting-gallery one with 2 infrared pistols (hence my magnum skills i'd like to think).

My first favorite PC games were DukeNukem 3D and Terminal Velocity. Used to like original Unreal Tournament and played it on LAN a few times with 1 or 2 opponents.

Started online gaming in 2006 (thanks to my nephew) and became addicted to HL2DM and Lincoln server in particular, as a very friendly place with nice people.

Trying to do my best as an official "crazy russian" within DOH clan

Half Life Half Biscuit
Half
In "real" life [DOH] Half Life Half Biscuit is better known as Martin - I am 32 years old and live in Milnrow in Lancashire (which is a bit like hell only colder). Not married but share my house with my cat Rafa (named after Liverpool's manager Rafa Benitez fact fans..). I am originally from Runcorn, hence the semi-scouse origins.

I work as a network engineer - it is quite a varied job taking in everything from piddly ADSL networks up to international MPLS networks. Been doing it for about 8 years now.

My online name is reference to the world's (well, Birkenhead's) finest band - Half Man Half Biscuit who I listen to semi-obsessively for 22 hours most days.

Likes: Beer, chips, sex and gravy.
Dislikes: Manchester (scum) United, headshots, mushy peas

Jackassery
Age: 45
Location: Norfolk
Origins: North America (DOH’s token Yank)

Occupation: Principal Field IT Engineer for BAE Systems. In 1985, I joined the USAF as a Navigator, principally flying the MC-130E. In 1993, I was hired by Lockheed as a Program Manager/Test Navigator and flight tested aircraft for the next few years. I then moved to the UK to take my current role and to please my English wife. Past certs include MCSE, CCNA, and SAP Basis (R/3). Got bored with computer quals, so I did an MBA, finishing in Dec 2006.

Hobbies: Just finished restoring Georgian farmhouse in Norfolk (six year effort) and keeping the farm (or what’s left of it) running is a full time job. Latest creative effort was a wood-fired clay pizza oven.

Have been playing HL since it first appeared on the scene back in the late 90’s, but shelved on-line gaming until technology caught up with life in the sticks. I finally got a Wi-Max connection a year and a half ago and immediately purchased HL2.

Kryten
Real name: Jonathan Harris
Age: 29
Location: Felixstowe, Suffolk

I work with my parents running some of the attractions on the sea front here in Felixstowe: bumper boats, go-karts, bungee trampoline, miniature railway among others, but I'm currently looking around for a "proper job".

Apart from HL2:DM the other games I play regularly are Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty 4 and Spore. I play the piano/organ/keyboard and am also interested in cars. Have a Peugeot 206 at the moment, but am looking to get something more sporty - hopefully a Honda S2000 or Mazda RX-8. That's where the "proper job" comes in.

What_De_Diddly
what_de_diddly
Accelerating beyond my mid-thirties, married, 2 kiddies. Skint. Mid-life crisis looming.

Certified Computer Nut. Much to Wife's Chagrin. Always been better at taking things apart than putting back together - just ask kinase.

Mountain Bike nut too, no skills really total coward when it comes to drops and jumps - just like escaping from the house for a few hours - oh and the pub afterwards

Been playing online games for several years UT, Quake, HL2:DM and TF2. Can't stand anyone who takes this stuff too seriously - you know who you are!

Studied Astrophysics at Uni. 8 year stint in the Space industry, orbits, satellites that kind of thing oh and freeking laser beams! Been working as a Web Developer too for the last 13 years (.Net, Web services, SOA, GIS, mapping, that kinda stuff). Kind of fell into it really, never looked back.

Hope to one day finish my own website, can never find the time though

Who-killed-bambi??
Who-killed-bambi??
okay a bit about myself

38 married with 3 kids

work as an ultrasonographer at a small hospital in Leeds (until they close us and make us go and work the large teaching Hospital salt mines in the city centre)

kind of fell into Radiography nearly 20 years but still enjoy it immensely,

The name "who-killed-bambi??" (as any who's played on HL2 for more than 5 mins with me will know) comes from a deeply awful film shot by Malcolm Maclaren - a kind of alternative rock biopic of the Sex Pistols, chosen because i have been known to sing it very loudly when under the influence, and more esoterically, it tends to sort the more like-minded players from the irritating 16 year old ubergeeks. i am always impressed when someone can spot the reference to the sex pistols, and equally derisory of any tosser who type "i killed bambi!!" after shooting me

Hobbies
3 kids, wife, full time job with on call, dilapidated 3 bedroom semi plus too long garden and you want me to have hobbies???
okay latest project - hopefully later this year going to get a kit car - some one elses effort not my own will post when its purchased

not very good at HL2 DM but definitely enjoy the crack (no i am not spelling it craic because that's twattish)

fav drinks - Guiness, Jack Daniels, decent real ale, good bottle of wine with good company - failing that meths on a park bench

fav woman (apart from my wife) - Suranne Jones

fav bit of HL2 ? sneaking up on someone with the .357 and doing a 'Gangster' style hit . Also injecting a little bit of banter when people start taking it all too seriously

Why [DOH] - because i love the mix of characters we have in the clan, like the fact that we 'invite' people to join, like the knowledge that when another DOH'er is on the map the whole HL2 thing is just a bit brighter (apart from biscuit who is a pustulant carbuncle on the backside of humanity)
